
Acamedmic Advisor & Editor Barbara Olmsted
Barbara Olmsted was the Associate Dean of Education from Nipissing University. Her post-graduate education is extensive beginning with her undergraduate degree in Physical and Health Education (BA-BPHE) and her Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Queen's University. Barbara continued her educational pursuits with a Master's Degree (MA) from Western University.
She began her career in teaching in North Bay at Widdifield Secondary School for 10 years before accepting a position at Nipissing University in the Faculty of Education. Barbara pursued her Doctorate Degree (EdD) from the University of West Virginia.
In addition to her long career in academia, Barbara was a two-time Olympic athlete and competed in the 1984 and 1988 summer Games in the sport of canoeing. She achieved a bronze medal for Canada in the K-4 event in the 1984 summer Olympics in Los Angeles, USA.
Barbara recently retired from Nipissing University and provides consulting services to Nipissing University. She is currently the academic advisor and editor for OLM Physiotherapy.
